Project Month 9 TestBed 1

• First "big deliverable" of DataGrid project
• working model of Grid with "what we've got" at
  end of September
• evaluation of TB1 due in January 2002
• experiences provide input into development of
  software for TB2 (September 2002)

• RedHat 6.2 w/ latest kernel patches Globus 2.0
• resource broker service
• a job submission service (PBS, LSF, Condor
  interfaces)
• CLI to these services
• an information index (presumably this is
  metadata)
• bookkeeping and logging (for job submission)
• Grid Data Management Pilot (GDMP)

• Grid Security Infrastructure (GSI) database
  interface
• file replica catalogue API
• mass data transfer using GridFTP RFIO

• successful install at CERN (2 mini-farms)

  NIKHEF)
• "dynamic addition" of further sites (?)

• Datagrid Work Package 8 Technical Working Group
  gets applications from collaborations installs
  on CERN testbed
• once they are working, they get installed on new
  testbeds upon request
• NIKHEF (JAT) responsible for LHCb app,
  unofficially involved with Alice PPR
• "user" usage will be limited until 2002
