Timothy, To the church of the Thessalonians in
God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ Grace
to you and peace.
3Paul and Silvanus and Timothy
- Silvanus is the same with Silas, who was with the
apostle at Thessalonica and at Corinth, when he
wrote this epistle he was originally a member of
the church at Jerusalem, and was one of the chief
of the brethren there (Acts 1522) see below, and
a prophet (Acts 1532) see next 2 slides for
details - Acts 1522 Then it seemed good to the apostles
and the elders, with the whole church, to choose
men from among them to send to Antioch with Paul
and Barnabas--Judas called Barsabbas, and Silas,
leading men among the brethren,
4Act 1532 Judas and Silas, also being prophets
themselves, encouraged and strengthened the
brethren with a lengthy message. (Emphasis added)

7Paul and Silvanus and Timothy
- Timothy was a product of Pauls first missionary
journey into Asia (Acts 161) - Acts 161 Paul came also to Derbe and to Lystra.
And a disciple was there, named Timothy, the son
of a Jewish woman who was a believer, but his
father was a Greek, and he was well spoken of by
the brethren who were in Lystra and Iconium.

9Holy Spirits leading to Macedonia
- Acts 166-10 They passed through the Phrygian
and Galatian region, having been forbidden by the
Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia and after
they came to Mysia, they were trying to go into
Bithynia, and the Spirit of Jesus did not permit
them and passing by Mysia, they came down to
Troas. A vision appeared to Paul in the night a
man of Macedonia was standing and appealing to
him, and saying, "Come over to Macedonia and help
us." When he had seen the vision, immediately we
sought to go into Macedonia, concluding that God
had called us to preach the gospel to them.
