Part 1
  • Check your motherboard book for a compatible CPU
  • Buy one that caters to your needs, and a cooling
system that works for the CPU, provided the CPU
    doesnt come with one.

3
Part 2
  • Power off your computer, and let the components
    cool down.
  • Take the case off of your computer
  • Remove the cooling system from the CPU thats in
your computer, and then remove the CPU. Refer to
the motherboard book on how to do that.
  • On Socket 775 CPUs, theres usually a lever that
    pops up the CPU.

4
Part 3
  • Gently remove the existing CPU.
  • Align the new one into the socket
  • Gently place the CPU into the socket, and push
    the clamp down
  • Install the cooling device, and be sure to plug
    it into the motherboard.

5
Part 4
  • Finally, put the case back on your PC, reconnect
everything, and turn the power on.
  • If it turns on, then you did a good job! Good
Work! Now get back to work!
  • If not, then take it to a computer store, and ask
them to fix it. (That is, if you didnt screw up
    your motherboard in the process!)
