Proposed Specification
  • Pitch dimensions 60 x 95 yards (similar to
    Whitton) official 11-a-side sized pitch
  • 3rd Generation turf a new generation of grasses
    which are rubber granule filled.
  • Synthetic turf of a longer pile type (45-60mm)
    with a rubber granule infill.
  • Likely product Tigerturf Profoot 50 (FIFA
accredited grass to National and International
    levels)
  • TigerTurf (UK) Ltd. is the UK's leading
    artificial grass manufacturer.

Proposed Specification

with either 1 metre kickboard or higher density
    weld-mesh section at the bottom.

    purposes
  • Lighting 12 metre columns (high to avoid light
spillage send light directly down, not left or

  • Value of quality pitch surfaces for training and
    matches.
  • Potential users in school time and out.

10
Current Football Provision at Kesgrave High School
11
Extra Curricular Football
  • Normal provision is for a Football club for every
age group in both girls and boys Football (only
lack of pupil attendance would prevent this).
  • Normal practice 1 session a week
  • However, once British Summer Time ends we have no
after school provision. Practice becomes a
    lunchtime session 1.10pm 1.40pm.
  • This drastically affects participation due to
    conflicting interests eg. School dinners,
weather, other school events at lunchtime.
  • A floodlit 3G astro-turf facility would allow
    for
  • Regular training of greater quality and time
  • Time for each year group to practice
  • After school facility for additional House
    competitions etc
  • A greater reflection of the priority that
Football has in our school curriculum.

12
Focus questions for discussion
  • What are the barriers to growth for your club?
  • Would this new facility help to meet your needs?
  • What issues / considerations do you want Kesgrave
High School to take into account in this project
    to best meet your needs?
  • What hire cost would be affordable and reasonable
    for your club?

13
Next Steps..
  • Completion of our feasibility study
  • Application to the Football Foundation
  • Fund-raising and other small grants applications
  • Hope to begin in Summer 2010
