  • Protects a single machine.
  • Free versions and for-pay versions.

Web Server Security
  • A firewall might not protect you.
  • Patch/update the web server regularly (IIS or
    Apache).
  • Look out for old CGI progams.
  • Remove all sample/example programs that come with
    the web server.
  • Use a secure method for updating the server (not
    FTP).
  • Keep your database separate from your web server.
