3Mission statement of WPBS
- The West Pomeranian Business School is- a
non-state institution of higher education
operating on the basis of the Higher Education
Act. - - a non-profit institution all operating
profits are allocated for further development of
the School. - an institution autonomous in
defining its mission statement, its objectives

free institution which is manifested in the
freedom of scientific research and freedom of

19Our activity for entrepreneurship support
- Businessmans guide is a cycle of Television
programmes which are to promote
entrepreneurship. The main objective is to
popularise development of entrepreneurial
attitudes in citizens of the West Pomeranian
region through providing them with easily
accessible knowledge. The programme is targeted
at the unemployed. - Businessmans guide is produced by the West
Pomeranian Business School in cooperation with
The 3rd Channel of Regional Television in
Szczecin. - Businessmans guide is co-financed by the Polish
Agency For Enterprise Development within the
project Grants for initiatives supporting
Enterprise Development.
20Carreer Office in WPBS
- offers consulting, advisory and training services
in the field of establishing and running an
economic activity by graduates and students of
higher schools - organises internships, practical placements,
national and foreign trainings that facilitate
acquiring necessary professional experience to
all graduates and students of higher education - promotes the most promising graduates and
students through, among others, compiling data
bases with information on graduates - cooperates with companies from the region of West
Pomerania in the field of creating work places
for higher education graduates.The Career
Office was established with financial support
from The Department of Labour Market Policy in
the Ministry of Economy, Labour and Social Policy.

22Publishing House of the WPBS
Publishing House of the WPSB is a professional
publisher of specialist literature in the fields
of Economics and Management. There are several
tens of volumes already published (including
textbooks in foreign languages). The scientific
quarterly magazine Company and Market has been
a permanent editorial position for the past few
years.
23International Co-operation Department of the WPBS
- International Co-operation has always been one of
the strategic priorities in the development of
the School. WPBS cooperates with over a hundred
of foreign universities. It carries out numerous
international programmes and projects, e.g.
Socrates Erasmus, Leonardo da Vinci, Jean
Monet, Phare, Tempus, etc. - In the period of 1995 2007, WPBS managed or
participated in 25 international projects the
total value of which amounted to over EUR 10 mln. - Owing to exchange programmes for students and
teaching staff, our students can study in
England, Denmark, Belgium and France.

25Significant international projects
- By means of the Baltic Sea Virtual Campus
project, in which WPBS is an active participant,
without going out of the apartment students will
be offered an opportunity of receiving a Master
degree of 13 European universities. - Newly created programme of the BSVC is an
agreement of higher education institutions from
Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Lithuania,
Latvia, Russia and Poland. The project is
financed by the European Commission within the
INTERREG III programme. The agreement in this
matter was signed by representatives of all the
universities in Lund, Sweden. - It is a completely new concept of studying and
obtaining a university degree it is the student
who is the most important person because he
himself decides on the course of his studying.
Student of the Baltic Sea Virtual Campus,
according to his own individual needs and
expectations, will be able to choose a university
where he would like to attend courses in a given
module.
26Significant international projects
- Entrepreneurship Incubator for students and
graduates of higher schools in the west
Pomeranian Business School in Szczecin. In the
period of 1st November 2002 to 23rd May 2003 the
West Pomeranian Business School in Szczecin in
cooperation with Fachhochschule fur Technik
Wirtschaft Berlin (FHTW) is managing a project
Preparation of a project to establish a regional
entrepreneurship incubator for students and
graduates of higher education. The project is
realised within the CBC Small Project Fund Poland
Germany implemented by The Association of the
Polish Municipalities in the Euroregion
Pomerania.
27International Business Studies
- In October 2000, WPBS launched International
Business Studies a specialised course on
international business provided in English - The course is addressed to both Polish and
foreign students. - International Business Studies is provided on
Bachelor and Master levels. - Only during this academic year we host over 100
International students and over 80 Polish
students, studying IBS.

- Within the Socrates / Erasmus Programme our
students can study for one or two semesters in
our partner universities abroad - England

- All of the planned activities are part of the
strategy of the WPBS for the nearest future.
Success of the strategy is strictly dependent on
common effort made by all our employees and on
favourable external circumstances. We will do our
utmost to - gain rights to grant PhD degree
within the next 5-8 years,- adjust standards of
the Schools performance to the ones binding in
the European Union,- develop quality standards
in the School including gaining accreditation of
syllabi and the Quality Certificate ISO, - - implement e-learning programmes available for
wide public, - - become a leader of regional development in the
field of research, development projection and

anniversary. This year we are celebrating our
15th jubilee.

- The magazine was set up by one of our students
Michal Lisiecki in 1998 - Katarzyna Gintrowska, another WPBS graduate,
became the chief editor - At present DLACZEGO is a unique, professional,
country-wide periodical for students

comprises our own modernised premises in the
school campus at Zolnierska street. The buildings
are modern, well equipped and student-friendly.O

lecture halls and teaching rooms, computer

laboratories, library and reading room with
Internet access, equipped with the latest issues
of books and magazines in Polish, English and
German, electronic reading room, - free and unrestrained access to the Internet
for each student (it is possible to connect to
the Internet with a notebook), publishing
house, cafeteria, gym, swimming pool and
tennis court, - parking for students, Distance Learning
studio, rooms for student organisations and
scientific clubs.
