Giving Students a Voice

• Your OUSU representatives sit on over 50
  committees including University Council, ensuring
  that students get a voice at all levels.
• OUSU Council is the forum where the Student Union
  decides policy and strategy and happens
  fortnightly

Campaigning for Change

• Lobbying Colleges and the Government on issues
  such as rent and the cap on tuition fees
• Facilitating a network of campaigns such as Queer
  Rights and the disabilities campaigns
• Combining efforts with other Unions such as the
  NUS and Brookes.

Supporting Students

• Student Welfare Our Student Advice Service is
  designed to ensure that students always feel that
  there is a network of advice they can get if they
  get into trouble
• Advising common rooms the Student Union takes
  an active role in supporting your college common
  room negotiate rent or fight any issue that your
  common room wishes to take up

Affecting Our Wider Community

• Target Schools established in 1982 with the
  aims of widening participation by targeting
  students in the state sector through access work.
• Reach Oxford Co-ordinating financial support
  for students from developing countries
• Charity, RAG and Volunteering getting involved
  in pro bono activities and getting students to
  donate their time to charitable activity.
