Title: LINE ASSIGNMENTTWO 2 DRAWINGS OF TWO 2 DIFFERENT STILL LIFE OBJECTS' One object is free choice and o

1
LINE ASSIGNMENT-TWO (2) DRAWINGS OF TWO (2)
DIFFERENT STILL LIFE OBJECTS. One object is free
choice and one must have an ellipse. One drawing
will be in pencil and one in ink. You can decide
which medium to use for each drawing. Each
drawing must be matted.
  • Draw a blind contour drawing of each object. Both
blind contours must be handed in before starting
finished contour drawings. Blind contours are
    worth 10 points each.
  • Each matted contour line drawing is worth 100
points for a total of 200 points.

Approach every drawing with careful thought.
  • What makes sense with the object you have chosen
    a vertical or horizontal paper?
  • Draw the object large and fill the entire page.
  • Block-in entire object LIGHTLY.
  • Make corrections.
  • Darken lines.
  • Create depth and interest through line quality.
Do NOT create a monotone drawing where all the
lines are the same. Remember light, thin lines
push back in space while dark, thick lines push
    forward.
  • Try to place object in a space by drawing a
    shadow or the table.
  • Draw lines only do NOT fill in or shade areas.
Create detail and form with line only.

An ellipse is a circle seen at an angle.
  • The rule is all ellipses on a single object curve
    in the same direction.
  • Use line quality to create depth with ellipses.
  • Make sure the bottom of the object curves the
    same as the top.
