3SARS Impact and Come Back Strategies
4SARS Impact
- Thailand was not an effected country and had no
in-country transmission of SARS - Impact on the Thai Exhibition Industry was
relatively small.
5Why small Impact?
- Two key reasons
- There were not many International Exhibitors
during the key period of April to June - Thai government responded quickly and effectively
to the treat of SARS to boost confidence in
business and travel.
6Low Level of Impact
- Existing shows Number of overseas trade visitors
decreased by 25-30 - Existing shows The sizes of the shows decreased.
Oversea exhibitors cancelled 5-20 of the
reserved areas - New shows They have been postponed.
7Actions
- The government will continue to boost confidence
and minimize the concerns of travelers and
businessman - TEA will continue to provide useful information
for exhibitors and full support to Thai
government. - Now, the confidence among exhibitors and
visitors have begun to rise.
