The point of this meeting is to
  • Tell you where were at with bargaining for the
    09-11 contract.
  • Tell you about a strategy weve developed that
    puts members first both actives and retirees
    despite the economic crisis.
  • Discuss our options.
  • Answer your questions.
  • Discuss and plan next steps for this contract and
    09-11.

Times are Changing
  • In December we talked about how the focus on
    wages and health care was changing.

But with the severity of the economic crisis came
an intense, out right attack on public workers
and it started with Governor Lynch.

  • Wage freezes (including steps)
  • Substantial health care cost shifting to
    employees

  • Increase employee retirement contribution 2
  • Charge under 65 retirees a health care premium
  • Charge all retirees higher drug and office visit
    co-pays
