VVA FORUMMISSION STATEMENT

• The mission of the VVA Forum is to provide an
  open forum to
• Discuss issues pertaining to the verification,
  validation and accreditation of distributed
  simulations
• Define and develop processes and procedures
  needed to support and execute verification and
  validation and to support accreditation
• Identify and focus the need for VV tools and
  techniques
• Support the evolution of SISO VVA standards

Conceptual Model

• Issue from 99S There are diverse opinions about
  what is in a conceptual model and how one
  documents a conceptual model
• Action Established a tiger team under the
  leadership of Dr. Dale Pace. The team explored
  possible descriptive formats and content.
  Results are reported in 017.
• Result Conceptual Model Tiger Team reported out
  and provided a well-defined description of the
  components of a conceptual model. Case studies
  are planned.

Validating Human Behavior Representations

• Issue from 99S The state of the art for
  validating human behavior representations is
  immature.
• Action Established a tiger team under the
  leadership of Mr. S. Y. Harmon. The team scoped
  the problem and developed a preliminary
  validation framework.
• Result HBR Tiger Team produced and briefed a
  HBR validation framework to be refined and
  published at the Spring SIW.

Fidelity Advances

• Issue from 99S Fidelity Conceptual Framework
  (FCF) proposed but untried.
• Action
• FEX-ISG presented refinements to the Fidelity
  Conceptual Framework (FCF)
• Representative of the International Community
  presented results of a trial of the FCF
• Result Fidelity Conceptual Framework (FCF)
  matured further trials and refinements expected.
