Title: Overview of progress since Oxford Coll' meeting

1
Overview of progress since Oxford Coll. meeting
  • a lot of progress on completing and finalising
    LCFI Vertex Package
  • focus of work since last meeting was in the
    following four areas
  • understanding the system test with SGV input
with the aim to improve MARLIN performance
  • to the level of performance achieved with SGV
(flavour tag inputs, IP issues, see Bens talk)
  • still ongoing, new comparison plot in
    preparation
  • completing the interface to MarlinReco event
    reconstruction and porting to MarlinReco
  • (e.g. different setup for compiling as with
MARLIN, MC true jet flavour) -gt this and Bens
    talk
  • finalising / debugging code and steering files
    for release
  • preparation of system test with MarlinReco input
    (track cheaters)

2
PlotProcessor performance
  • purity / efficiency obtained in PlotProcessor
and from standalone program in good agreement
  • after ensuring the same angular cuts were
    used (Mark)

3
Determination of MC-true jet flavour
  • interface to MarlinReco implemented, tested in
    Marlin processor (Ben)
  • SGV-algorithm implented in C and shown to
agree for identical input, see plots (Erik)
  • still to be done putting both together and
ensuring that identical results are obtained for
  • same input events (when MOKKA files available)

4
Preparation for system test with MarlinReco input
  • will need to run simplified MarlinReco event
    reconstruction before running our code
  • Ben put together steering file to do so
    straightforward, mainly fine
  • except in contrast to earlier statements,
track cheater does not put out covariance
    matrices
  • request sent to Alexei Raspereza who promised to
fix this in the 1st or 2nd week of February
  • now have agreement that MOKKA files for system
test will be processed on the GRID by DESY
  • DESY expert in charge of this is Dennis Martsch
  • modified SGV to put out StdHep binary files as
    input for those runs (Sonja)
  • example file has been sent to DESY for checking
    file format etc.
  • will clarify timescale for obtaining MOKKA files
    and further details tomorrow
  • until we obtain MOKKA files and modified
MarlinReco version work on finalising code
  • and documentation
