  • Prior to the smartphones
  • 6.71 of respondents had communicated with
    teachers using a mobile device 29.53 had shared
    work with teachers using a mobile device.
  • 13.42 of all respondents had emailed a teacher.
  • With the smartphones
  • 42.19 of respondents stated that they had
    communicated/ shared work with teachers using
    their smartphone.
  • 21.87 said that they had sent an email to their
    teacher using the smartphone.

Recommendations
  • Be certain that technology is fully tested
  • Use a pilot group of staff and learners before
    rolling out the technology
  • Ensure that staff are involved and receive
    training
  • Respond to learners needs and develop resources
    with them
  • Appoint student mentors and be open to
    suggestions and new applications of the
    technology
