MISSION STATEMENT
  • To assist and encourage adult and
  • juvenile participants in their substance
  • abuse rehabilitation process through
  • constructive and innovative court
  • supervision.
  • To enhance the participants lives
  • Through sobriety support programs,
  • educational incentives, employment and
  • family reunification.

HISTORY
  • Dependency Drug Court began in May 2003 by a
    collaboration of the courts, community substance
    abuse treatment providers, the State of Florida,
    Community Based Care Providers and other
    agencies.
  • The Duval County Dependency Drug Court presiding
    Circuit Court Judges are Linda McCallum and W.
    Gregg McCaulie. The Hearing Officers are Lester
    Bass and Kathryn Boone.

  • Dependency Drug Court is designed to intervene

  • Intensive substance abuse treatment
  • Legal accountability
  • Ancillary resources needed to ensure permanent
    lifestyle change
  • This is achieved through
  • Weekly judicial monitoring
  • Case management
  • Upon successful graduation from the program, the
  • court may reinstate parental custody
