6 Support To Airlines Certification (2)
7Issue Mis-Use of the CM/CPDLC GAT
- Tool available for Airlines Since Sept 2006
- To exercise CPDLC Independently from a test bed
or grounded equipped aircraft - CPDLC familiarization for aircrew
- To check avionics installation
- To verify CMU/ATSU non-regression or new software
release - Hosted on the Datalink Test Facility on LFPYTEST
- SUCCESS Story until September 2008 !
- DLH, SAS, RJA, HLX, AZA, BER
- UNTIL . Mis Use Logon in Flight observed ? !!!
8Issue Mis-Use of the GAT
- Even though the tool is auto-protected against
mis-understanding - There is (was) nothing preventing it to be used
in flight - The tool was observed to be used in flight, in
Maastricht airspace or close to it - Inappropriate Logon to LFPYTEST when EDYY was
already CDA - no OPS consequence as the CPDLC connection could
not established from LFPYTEST (CPDLC-Start
Rsp-DM107) - Aircraft with LFPYTEST as CDA when in just before
entry in Maastricht airspace - CPDLC connection with EDYY could not be
established.
9Issue Mis-Use of the GAT
- Technical implementation of a filter at Logon
step - The Logon is accepted only when CallSign
EEC9999 received - Better than previous situation, but not optimal
as some airborne config may allow the initial
CallSign to be changed in flight. - Procedural Ask the Airlines to sign a paper in
which they accept the conditions for using the
tool
- A Safety analysis was conducted in Nov 2008 with
three Airlines (those who had been observed using
the tool in flight) - Outcome
- The risk is minimum with dedicated CallSign
- The paper is acceptable
10Issue Mis-Use of the GAT
- TECHNICAL
- Implementation of A Call Sign filter EEC9999 at
Logon step - Non sense values in the Uplink Clearances
- PROCEDURAL
- Pre-Requisites for Using the Test Facility
- Document sent to Airlines on the in Dec 08 for
information and VISA.
