GMS Contract Reporting for Practices
The following presentation demonstrates how to
use Quest Browser to manage your GMS contract.
There are three simple steps 1. Install Quest
Browser 2. Download and run the GMS Contract
Query Set 3. Run the embedded Contract
report This solution works with all accredited
clinical systems WHAT IS QUEST BROWSER? View the
slides to see

Quest Browser
  • The Quest Browser solution allows PCTs to
    provide incentive schemes, data collection
schemes, data quality initiatives and NSF related
    support to practices.
  • The Audits, their read codes, and their output
format can be modified to suit the requirements
    of individual PCTs
  • The GMS Contract Set provides comprehensive data
to practices to help them maximise their
    achievement. This solution provides everything
from points calculation to action lists, a diary,
    and mail-merge letters.
  • Practices using this audit are provided with
continuity if they change clinical system
suppliers. The audit works in the same way no
matter which LSP solution they use.
  • PCTs can collect audit results electronically,
and provide an aggregated picture not only for
the nGMS contract, but for all audits.

Queries are held in libraries. They can be
downloaded from a website, or imported from disk.
They include built in report objects to analyse
the miquest responses
4
Query libraries are stored on the website for
downloading into your library list. Just click on
the set you want.
5
Once you have downloaded the library, select the
query sets you wish to issue
6
Fill in the date you wish the data to be based
on this means you can back date queries if you
wish.
7
The Query set is issued with the correct
identifiers, and with all dates modified.
8
Authorise and run the queries on the clinical
systems miquest interpreter. Then authorise the
output.
9
When Responses are imported they are held in the
tree to be viewed.
10
Select the Report by clicking the report button,
and the entire contract is processed!
11
This report reads all the response files, locates
the data and imports to Excel, producing a
completed report
12
The results are placed into the report and your
percentages and points calculated
13
Where you need to, answer Y to additional
sections that are not MIQUEST filled. These are
retained when you update to later versions.
14
You can select the clinical category (CHD, COPD,
Diabetes etc or select ALL)
The pivot table identifies where patients have
NOT had information recorded, so this dummy
patient needs aspirin, beta-blocker and smoking
cessation advice.
Recently registered, or recently diagnosed
patients are temporarily excluded from the
calculations, and are shown in red.
These are not real patients!
15
Double-clicking here will jump directly to the
patients needing a BMI in November.
Overdue patient lists are accessed by
double-clicking
The diary page consolidates the practice workload
onto one sheet. The diary represents the activity
required to maximise your points score. You can
jump directly from the diary page to the patients
by double-clicking on the relevant number.
16
Return to the diary
These are the November BMI dummy patients
Re-sort the list into date or patient or activity
order by clicking on the relevant button
17
Drag the mouse across the patients you want, and
click to mail-merge a letter!
Dear Mr Winston, According to our records you
are due to attend the surgery during November for
your etc etc etc Yours Sincerely Practice Nurse

Browser...
19
Users can create their own query sets by editing
a template
20
Each set you create becomes a fully
working library entry. Editing is via point and
shoot
21
The appropriate options are shown for the line
you are editing
22
Selection is simple
23
You can even manually edit ONLY IF THE QUERY
DESIGNER PUTS THAT FACILITY INTO THE QUERY.
24
Query Sets you have edited may be exported for
other QB users. You can allow/deny editing rights
for that set when you export it.
