projects... What is a development project? --gt
a set of coherent activities (works, studies) to
be implemented in order to achieve development
results. Projects and Programs --gt Individual
projects or groups of projects each financed by
one donor. Sector wide approaches --gt Groups
of projects and other activities co-financed
(pooled resources) by several
donors Budget support --gt Sets of activities
included in the country s budget, and supported
as a whole, by one or several donors.

5- The stakeholders of a development project
- The Beneficiary (or borrower, in the case of a
loan) - The entity (government, firm) to which the
funds are loaned or - granted, and which will make the payments in
the case of a loan. - Donors
- The entity (government, institution) which loans
or grants the funds. - Target groups
- The group of people who will directly benefit
from the project. - The group of people targeted by the
project s objectives. - The responsible Agency
- The entity (ex Ministry) which initiates the
project, and is responsible - for achieving its objectives. (Usually issues
the policy). - The implementing Agency
- The entity which manages, and is responsible
for, the project
