• In 1923, proposed that electrons behave like
  photons are both particle and wave based
• This led to his assumption that it is impossible
  to determine where an electron is at any given
  time

• The electron cloud theory is based on a
  probability that an electron exists in a given
  area
• This can be calculated using the electron waves
  frequency the wave must move along nodes and
  antinodes around the nucleus
• It also must connect with itself. If the wave
  crosses itself on the second pass around, it will
  cause destructive interference and cancel itself
  out

• Schrodinger developed Plancks constant into a
  formula that predicts the electron wavelengths
• He also developed the electron cloud model,
  visualizing de Broglies theory

• Schrodingers formula helped form the shapes of
  the different energy level electron clouds
• Certain frequency wavelengths determine what
  energy level the wave can exist in, and the shape
  of the electron cloud describing them
• The s cloud is shaped like a sphere, while the p
  clouds extend in elliptical patterns in different
  axis
