Why STEM Equity?
  • As a consequence of lack of diversity . . . We

    of Engineering
  • If we do not engage women and minorities in the
engineering enterprise, we are ignoring more than

Additional Positive Outcomes
28
The funding was the impetus to address the need
we had, but the information was as important as
the money. It has helped our school as seen in
the increase enrollment in upper level math
courses among female students. --Cathy
Flood Bement High School
Motivation and partnerships providing
sustainability
29
new and renewed relationships
The collaboration with others was one of the
best outcomes of this project . . . I have
strengthened some relationships and made some new
ones . . . all essential for coordination of
services. --Jen Conely, Kishwaukee College
30
heightened visibility of services
I have observed other departments now setting up
their own NTO activities without my involvement.
This to me is success. The college community
recognizes the Gender Equity Coordinator as a
resource, which will have an impact for both
short and long term initiatives. --Diane Fall ,
Black Hawk College
