Title: A LIFE OF GOOD FRUIT
1A LIFE OF GOOD FRUIT
2So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not
gratify the desires of the sinful nature. For
the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the
Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the
sinful nature.
3They are in conflict with each other, so that you
do not do what you want. But if you are led by
the Spirit, you are not under law.
4The acts of the sinful nature are obvious sexual
immorality, impurity and debauchery idolatry and
witchcraft hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of
rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and
envy
5drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as
I did before, that those who live like this will
not inherit the kingdom of God.
6But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness and self-control.
(Galatians 516-23a)
7Choose to follow Jesus and allow God to give you
His Holy Spirit!
8Blessed is the man who does not walk in the
counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of
sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his
delight is in the law of the LORD,
9and on his law he meditates day and night. He is
like a tree planted by streams of water, which
yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does
not wither. Whatever he does prospers. (Psalm
11-3)
10Study and meditate on the scriptures and allow
God to produce His fruit in your life.
11No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad
tree bear good fruit. Each tree is recognized by
its own fruit. People do not pick figs from
thornbushes, or grapes from briers.
12The good man brings good things out of the good
stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings
evil things out of the evil stored up in his
heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his
mouth speaks. (Luke 643-45)
13Allow God to work in you so that you will become
more like Him.
14So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not
gratify the desires of the sinful nature. For
the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the
Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the
sinful nature.
15They are in conflict with each other, so that you
do not do what you want. But if you are led by
the Spirit, you are not under law.
16But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness and self-control. (Galatians 516-18,
22-23a)
17Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No
branch can bear fruit by itself it must remain
in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless
you remain in me.
18I am the vine you are the branches. If a man
remains in me and I in him, he will bear much
fruit apart from me you can do nothing. (John
154-5)
