• Used to populate new users /home directory with
  basic configuration files
• Located at /etc/skel

• .bash_profile-- user specific environment and
  startup settings
• .bashrc-- user specific aliases and functions
• .screenrc-- user specific terminal and xterm
  settings and key bindings

• Apache has UserDir setting in /usr/local/apache/ht
  tpd/conf/httpd.conf or /etc/httpd/conf/commonhttpd
  .conf
• UserDir setting sets the name of a directory in
  the users /home that Apache looks for when a
  username request is received
• means users /home directory

• To have a web site for each new user created,
  create a directory named public_html in the /skel
  dir and set its permissions to 755
• Users new web site is at hostname/username
• For instance pigseye.kennesaw.edu/showard2
