Aim of the Study

• Are Drosophilas potentially useful as indicator
  group?
• Therefor, we need to know first
• Do they show a clear relation between
  biodiversity and disturbance?

Methods

• 10 different habitats
• 2 collection sites per habitat
• oviposition traps
• adult and offspring

Habitats

• 1. Closed canopy forest (picture)
• 2. Open canopy forest
• 3. Patches of logged over forest
• 4. Scrub, forest with all trees removed
• 5. Pioneer vegetation on recovering kaïngins
• 6. Kaïngins, slash and burn agriculture
• 7. Semi, kaïngins with a semi-permanent character
• 8. Banana plantation
• 9. Reforestation with (mostly) softwood species
• 10. Grassland (picture)
