Define event

• Who? (your unit? Members of the Base community?
  Members of the general public?)
• How many? (Number of attendees?)
• What? (Annual golf tournament? Ball? Christmas
  party?)
• When? (Date)
• Where? (Location)
• Why?(Team building? Outreach? Morale?)

• MARPAC sponsorship office reviews all sponsorship
  whether it is public or non
• How do you know which it is?
• First you should know the definition of NPP.

NPP Sponsorship Properties

• Why do sponsorship?
• Improve already existing event with an increased
  cash flow or products in kind
• Ability to develop new morale and welfare events
  and activities that we not previously affordable
• This more formal process provides you with an
  accountability structure to protect yourself
• Build community relations for the Base

• Scenario 1
• The budget given to you for is 500. You have
  done some investigation into how much it is going
  to cost and you have come up with the following
  list of expenses
• -          500 for BBQ items for 200 people
• -          100.00 for kids face painting
• -          150.00 for Bobo the clown
• -          75.00 rental of kids fishing pond
• -          200.00 for small kids prizes
• -          100.00 for DJ
• -         600.00 for adult door prizes (two life
  jackets, and an inflatable boat, small outboard
  engine)

• Scenario 2
• Your unit has been working extremely hard under a
  great deal of pressure. Your CO decides the team
  should be recognized for all its work and the
  Mess has generously offered to subsidize each
  member of your Ship/Unit to attend a golf
  tournament, but has no budget for any prizes or
  for the dinner.
• You have been appointed to organize the event,
  and are scrambling to better the tournament for
  your co-workers. You decide that the best
  approach to increasing the scope of the
  tournament would be to solicit for donations and
  sponsorship.

• Scenario 3
• Your unit is interested in supporting the fire
  and burn unit at the local hospital.
• You decide that you want to hold a dinner, dance
  and fundraiser
• With no budget, you hope to raise 2000 to
  support the unit. You have been made responsible
  for organizing the dinner, dance and fundraising
  component of the night
