what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated
and came to rest on each of them.

everything we need for life and godliness through
our knowledge of him who called us by his own
glory and goodness.

him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses
saw that though the bush was on fire it did not

to look, God called to him from within the bush,
Moses! Moses!

you seek me with all your heart.
6II. God Works In Strange Ways
- Acts 24 All of them were filled with the Holy
Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the
Spirit enabled them. - Isa. 2811 Very well then, with foreign lips
and strange tongues God will speak to this
people.
7A. Whats The Big Deal
- Acts 25-6 Now there were staying in Jerusalem
God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven.
When they heard this sound, a crowd came together
in bewilderment, because each one heard them
speaking in his own language. - Acts 27-8 Utterly amazed, they asked Are not
all these men who are speaking Galileans? Then
how is it that each of us hears them in his own
native language?

residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia,
Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and
the parts of Libya near Cyrene visitors from
Rome (both Jews and converts to Judaism) Cretans
and Arabswe hear them declaring the wonders of
God in our own tongues!
9Acts 212-13 Amazed and perplexed, they asked
one another, What does this mean? Some,
however, made fun of them and said, They have
had too much wine.
10B. The Church Was Born
- What is the church?
- Ekklesia which means called-out ones.
- How do I become a part of the church?
11I Cor. 1212-13 The body is a unit, though it
is made up of many parts and though all its
parts are many, they form one body. So it is with
Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit
into one bodywhether Jews or Greeks, slave or
freeand we were all given the one Spirit to
drink.
12The Church Has A Message To Share!
- Acts 214-15 Then Peter stood up with the
Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd
Fellow Jews and all of you who live in
Jerusalem, let me explain this to you listen
carefully to what I say. These men are not drunk,
as you suppose. Its only nine in the morning!
13Acts 236-37 Therefore let all Israel be
assured of this God has made this Jesus, whom
you crucified, both Lord and Christ. When the
people heard this, they were cut to the heart and
said to Peter and the other apostles, Brothers,
what shall we do?
14Acts 238-39 Peter replied, Repent and be
baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus
Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you
will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The
promise is for you and your children and for all
who are far offfor all whom the Lord our God
will call.
15Acts 241 Those who accepted his message were
baptized, and about three thousand were added to
their number that day.
