When you add exponents you dont add the
exponents you add the base number which is the
big number. Example 812 the base would be
8. Example 84 63 4096 216 4312

Simple mistakes people make
One mistake that people make is multiplying the
base times the Exponent. Example 84 people
would put 84 which equals 32 instead of 8888
which equals 4096.

Subtracting Exponents
Subtracting exponents is just the opposite of
adding the them. You have to subtract the base
numbers first then the exponents.
Example 84 - 63 4096 - 216 3880

Just like when adding exponents dont subtract
the exponent from the base . Subtract the base
then the exponents. Example 84 63 doesnt
equal 21
