Presents a public lecture Global moralities and
grassroots struggles Gender, culture and AIDS in
Southern Africa
The CDPC welcomes Dr Ida Susser, Professor of
Anthropology at CUNY and Professor of Clinical
Sociomedical Sciences at Mailman School of Public
Health, Columbia University, to our public
lecture series. Professor Sussers research
focuses on the changing patterns of inequality
and poverty, social movements, gender and HIV
AIDS. This lecture will draw upon ethnographic
research (among urban, rural and indigenous
populations) concerning community mobilization,
women's strategies and the prevention, care and
treatment of HIV AIDS in southern Africa.
