1. Start
  • Get all the necessary material
  • Guidelines/ Corrigenda
  • Application form
  • Check for published FAQ
  • Do your homework Read VERY WELL the guidelines
  • Understand
  • Are you eligible?
  • What is the aim of the donor? Its objectives and
    priorities?
  • What are the procedures?

  • Do you need or want a partner?
  • If yes what kind of partner?
  • Complementary or similar field of activities
  • Nationality
  • How to involve them?
  • Find a common interest
  • Be clear and concrete what do they have to do?

3. Define Your Project Log Frame
  • The Logical framework
  • Key problem to address
  • Overall objectives
  • Specific project objective
  • Necessary activities
  • Plan what you need to implement it
  • Human resources Knowledge / Expertise and
    supporting staff
  • Travel
  • Equipment and supplies
  • ..
  • Design a sustainable project what happens when
    the project finish?

Exercise construct a Log Frame
  • Participants will be divided in two groups
  • Each group will need to assemble the given
    pieces of a Logical framework
  • Explanation and justification will need to be
    given
  • Results will be confronted and commented

4. Writing your proposal
  • It is an expended version of your Log-Frame!
  • KISS Keep It Short and Simple
  • Make sure what you write can be read by a
    nine-years-old child
  • Use Annexes for details e.g. curricula, training
    programme,
  • Define
  • Who does What, Where and When
  • Check your project sustainability
  • what happens when the money finishes?
  • Tip One clear image says more than hundreds words

5. Budgeting your project
  • Make a realistic estimate of costs, people and
    resources
  • Assure co-financing is well specified
  • Check if it is accepted in Cash AND in Kind
  • If your budget is too high, go back to your
    proposal and redefine/limit the activities

6. Revision back to square one!
  • Read again the guidelines
  • Revise your project and check whether
  • Your objectives match the donors objectives
  • Your activities match the allowed activities
  • Your consortium matches the donors request
  • Your people are the right people
  • Your budget falls within the prescribed limits
  • Tip try it out with at least three people

7. Presentation of the Proposal
  • Avoid any formal mistakes
  • Follow the donors procedures/format
  • Your consortium is eligible
  • Include all requested documents and number of
    copies
  • Respect any deadlines
  • Avoid any content mistakes
  • Make sure you meet the programme objectives and
    given priorities repeat key words!
  • Your activities are allowed
  • Your project is sustainable!
  • Tip print it at least one day before sending it!
