Title: Productivity Analysis of Municipality Waste Collection Process Narlidere Municipality

1
Productivity Analysis of Municipality Waste
Collection Process (Narlidere Municipality)
2
What is waste?
3
INTRODUCTION AND PROBLEM STATEMENT
  • We will focus on the routes of the vehicles.
  • Firstly, we should define the actual system.
  • At the end of the project we are planning to
suggest a new route plan after we compared with
    the actual system.

4
OBJECTIVES
  • Project has two objectives.
  • To minimize total cost fuel
    overtime
  • Opportunity cost of money
  • Environment
  • Current account deficit
  • To increase service quality
  • Public (voter) sensitivity

5
METHODS
  • We are planning to use one of the VRP softwares
to solve our vehicle routing problem.
  • Sample Wards Ilica and Yenikale Wards
  • Create a model without considering majority of
    constraints.
  • Add constraints by one by
  • Determine constrainst ? Interviews, observation
  • Define the actual system

6
METHODS ctd.
  • Collecting datas to define actual system, to
    create a new one
  • Workers
  • Shifts
  • Fuel consumptions of dustcarts
  • Detailed map
  • Maintenance frequency and costs of dustcarts
  • Population, number of apartments
  • Frequency of collecting wastes in each street
  • Containers

7
METHODS ctd.
  • Define actual systems breaking points
  • Moving point
  • Cases
  • No need to discover America again
  • Apply it according to our dynamics
  • Flexible system
  • Absence of dustcarts

8
RESOURCES
  • 11 wards and 479 streets
  • 10 dustcarts ? one dustcart takes 7 - 8 tones
    waste
  • Waste consume of Narlidere is approximately 50
    tones per day
  • 3,000 containers renewed
  • The shifts of dustcarts are 5 a.m. to 12 p.m. , 7
    a.m. to 230 p.m.
  • Unload Uzundere, Gediz and Harmandali

9
QUALIFICATION
  • Serdar SAVASAN
  • Sinan ÇAVDIRLI
  • Beliz GÜLDEN
  • Billur ÇEVIKEL
  • Anil KEKLIK

10
COST / BENEFIT ANALYSIS
  • There is a trade off between benefits and cost in
    some conditions.
  • Compare existing and new system in perspective of
    costs and benefit
  • Substantial improvement
  • Replace
  • Make small interventions to existing system
