Needs ...
Why CBT curriculum of Demography in HSPH?
- Paper-based curriculum is recently available
but MPH students still need a standard tool for
learning.
(HSPH still lacks qualified faculty to teach this
Introductory course of Demography)
- MPH students are going to the field in the
second year period to practice what they have
learned. Thus, most of them need a compact but
comprehensive version to refer to basic concepts
applied formulas when needed.

... Needs
- MPH students and other public health
students in HSPH are supposed to come back to
their local promotion after graduation and work
independently as qualified public health
personnel, so they also need this CBT version in
their daily practice.
(most of these students are health officers at
central, provincial, or even district level
throughout of Vietnam.)

Goal
This course will provide students with basic
understandings ( techniques when needed) of
- demographic perspective and population
processes,
- contemporary population issues worldwide and
particularly in Vietnam,
- demographic measurement methodologies and
their application.

Students will be able
1. to point out the overview of the worlds
population and main determinants of population
trends (with 100 of accuracy)
2. to identify the sources and applications of
demographic data (100 ...)
3. to apply basic demographic measurements and
to explain demographic indicators (100 ...)
4. to analyze key indicators of the
population of Vietnam, based on the actual
data and policy. (100 ...)

Comprehensive multiple choice Computer-based test
