2Advanced EJS Overview Features
Advanced EJS provides a means to view access
the Table of Contents of over 10,000 electronic
journalsthe majority of which are not OCC
subscriptions.
Retrieve articles from these journals by using
LinkSource (linking to the article in an OCC
database) or by ordering through OCCs CISTI
Document Delivery Service
Browse journals by subject categories to identify
specific journals and view their Table of
Contents and access their articles.

Advanced EJS is accessed from the journals page
4Accessing Advanced EJSAuthenticating with OCC
To access - enter either a valid student Onlines
Services or OCC employees OCCNT username
password
5Advanced EJS Main ScreenFeatures
Find Journals (Provides a means to search for
specific journal title
Browse Journals (Provides list of journals by
categories)
Quick List (Provides list of all 150 OCC
journals) Find Articles by Text (Provides means
to search for articles )
6Browse Journals by SubjectFeature
Select by Subject
Select Browse
Subject Categories and number of journals will be
displayed Select subject category
7Select All Journals Feature to AccessAll EJS
Journals in that Subject Category
Filter by Use pull down menu to select All
Journal (This will enable you to see a list of
all EJS journalnot just OCC journals full text
All EJS journals, under the subject category,
will be displayed and you can make your selection
8Accessing a Journal for whichOCC does not have a
Subscription
For a journal that has "No access currently
available" BUT has the message "Available on EJS"
you will be able to view it's Table of Contents
use LinkSource to locate specific articles.
9Journal Table of Contents Feature
The Table of Contents page will display a list of
the articles You can create a Table of Contents
Alert to be notified of new issues
Choose the article abstract desired and
Select Check for Copy to activate LinkSource to
retrieve or order the article
10LinkSource Menu Feature for Retrieving Articles
The LinkSource Menu will indicate if the article
is available in one of OCCs research databases
or the CISTI Document Delivery options will
display
11Another Feature of Advanced EJS--Find Articles
Find Articles provides a means to search for
articles, by terms, and access articles in
journals for which OCC does not have a
subscription

1.Number of articles available in full text is
listed under tab 2.Select Open in new window
3.LinkSource Menu displays where article can be
retrieved 4.Article opens in a new window

By selecting tab All articlesmore hits will be
displayed
You can retrieve or order articles using
LinkSource
14LinkSource provides the means to Access the
article from an OCC Research Database
From the LinkSource menu-this article is
available in PDF format from a research database
From this OCC research database you can view
article in PDF format
15Exiting EJS
When exiting EJS always use the Logout Link do
not just close the window or use the back button
