  • Goal Ball Skills Assessment 1
  • Skill Blocking and throwing the Bell Ball.
  • Purpose The students must be able to
    demonstrate the ability to properly block an
    incoming Bell Ball and return/throw the Bell Ball
    across the court.
  • Instructions Each student will be blindfolded
    and positioned on a side line of the court. The
    Bell Ball will be rolled to the student from half
    court and they must efficiently and correctly
    block the ball. After blocking the ball, the
    student will be expected to pick up the ball and
    properly roll it back across the court in the
    direction of the Goal Line. Each student will be
    given another try if needed.
  • Equipment eyeshades, elbow and knee pads, Bell
    Ball
  • Scoring Procedures This assessment is worth a
    total of 42 points that will be based on the
    skills required. The assessor must watch the
    performance and determine whether or not the
    required technique of blocking/passing was
    demonstrated in a successful manner.
  • Test Modifications The distance that the ball
    is rolled from and or the speed that the ball is
    rolled could be altered.
  • Tasks for the non-testing students The students
    could pair up and practice blocking and throwing
    the ball to each other.
