School Update
  • Enrollment
  • Both credit hours and headcount are slightly more
    as compared to June 2006 numbers
  • Number of admitted students increased by 32
  • Expecting a surge of international student
    registration in August
  • Students from Saudi Arabia for engineering and
    ECET programs
  • Students from Canada for CEMT and MS Technology
    programs
  • Students from Iran for engineering programs

School Update -2
  • Budget
  • Reduced student credit hour projection for
    2007-08 from 44,000 to 42,000
  • Eliminated three faculty positions from 2006-07
    base budget
  • Used the salary raises and indirect cost recovery
    funds from grants and contracts to balance the
    budget
  • Our school assessment (taxes) increased
  • We project only 0.5-0.9 raise for the base
    salaries and some one time cash bonuses

  • Fifteen faculty/staff groups were charged with
    specific tasks during spring 2007
  • DIAC members, alumni, and students were included
    in the groups
  • Reports were submitted by March 31, 2007

  • Freshman technology unit created similar to
    freshman engineering unit to improve academic
    advising and retention
  • Combined five technology departments and two
    academic programs into three large technology
    departments
  • ABET accredited engineering technology programs
  • Design and communication technology programs
  • Computer and information technology.
