Developing a Plan for State-Funded Course
Sequences
  • Sequence 90 of courses ROCP Community College
    have in common.
  • Consult with school districts, WIBs community
    colleges
  • Present plan at public hearing of school
    district, community college, and county governing
    boards
  • Submit ROCP Governing Board approved plan to CDE
    by 6/30/09

State Funded Course Sequencescontinued
  • A sequence is at least 2 CTE courses in the same
    pathway
  • An ROCP course is
  • A year long course of at least 150 hours or
  • A state certified course
  • or
  • A course that leads to industry certification
  • Sequence must include an ROCP and a Community
    College course

Adult Participation in ROCP Courses
  • ADA limits attributable to adults
  • 50 by June 30, 2009
  • 30 by June 30, 2010
  • 10 by June 30, 2012
  • June 30, 2014 for those ROCPs with adult
    enrollment of 40 or higher on January 1, 2007

  • An additional 5 ADA attributable to adults may
    be claimed after July 1, 2012 (or July 1, 2014)
    if the adult participant is receiving CalWORKS or
    Temporary Assistance Program, is a Job Corps
    participant or a WIA participant enrolled in
    Intensive Services

  • ROCP may exceed the 15 if ALL adult participants
    are receiving CalWORKS, Temporary Assistance
    Program, or are enrolled in the Job Corp
  • AND
  • A transition plan approved by CDE is in place and
    annually submitted to CDE

Employer Advisory BoardsContinued
  • Meet a minimum of once a year
  • EABs are required to
  • Review course sequences
  • Review assessment procedures
  • Assist in certification development
  • Assist in development of internships
  • Assist with creating scholarships

Employer Advisory Boards
  • ROCP Governing Boards must establish and maintain
    Employer Advisory Boards (EAB) for each pathway
    in which the ROCP offers courses
  • The majority of EAB members must be from
  • Business
  • Government agencies
  • Trade organizations AND
  • One educator from a school district CTE advisory
    committee AND
  • Members must have knowledge related to the CTE
    pathway.
