• By developing a modern, adaptive, and flexible
  HF system, much of NATOs messaging, data, data
  link, facsimile and voice requirements could be
  met within the HF band. This will reduce the
  demand for scarce SATCOM resources to those
  requirements that genuinely need large
  bandwidths.

  technology in Europe
• Operates in HF band may raise noise floor
• Netherlands commencing tests of power-line
  communications interference with HF
• Doesnt appear economically feasible in North
  American power distribution system
