The new Planning System
  • Legislation became effective in September 2004
    Changes to the new system June 2008 with
    amended Regulations and new policy statement
    (PPS12 Local Spatial Planning)
  • Regional Spatial Strategy replaced Regional
    Planning Guidance Local Development Frameworks
    will replace both Local Plans and Structure Plans
  • Streamlined LDFs introduced with new requirements
    for the evidence base and implementation /
    delivery
