What constitutes a reportable incident?
Death or permanent disability Injury to
Counterdrug personnel on or off duty Injury to
Non-Counterdrug personnel Damage to property,
military or civilian Special
Circumstances (toxins, ect)
11ACCIDENT REPORTING
Accident/Injury Classifications
Class A Accident The total cost of reportable
property damage is 1,000,000 or more a military
aircraft is destroyed, missing or abandoned or
an injury and/or occupational illness that
results in fatality or permanent disability.
12ACCIDENT REPORTING
Accident/Injury Classifications
Class B Accident The total cost of reportable
property damage is greater than 200,000 but less
than 1,000,000 an injury and/or occupational
illness that results in permanent partial
disability or five or more people are
hospitalized as inpatients as the result of a
single occurrence.

Class C Accident The total cost of reportable
property damage is greater than 10,000 but less
than 200,000 a nonfatal injury that causes a
loss of time from work beyond the day or shift on
which it occurred or a non-fatal illness that
causes loss of time from work (1 day or more) or
disability at any time.

- Forward through Florida Counterdrug HQ to State
Safety Office - Received at Safety Office within 15 days of
occurrence

- Air National Guard handled by Wing Safety
Officer - Army National Guard handled by AASF1 Safety
Officer - Aviation mission OICs will immediately notify CD
Headquarters of any aviation accident involving
CD assets!
18SAFETY TRAINING
- Essential Element in the Risk Management
Process - Mission Leaders are responsible
- Is part of new employee orientation
- Must be performed annually at a minimum
- Assistance by the State and CD Safety Offices

19VEHICLE SAFETY
- Drivers will be appropriately licensed
- Seatbelts will be utilized
- Drivers will not be assigned more than 10
continuous hours of driving, nor will the
combined duty day exceed 12 hours - Preventative maintenance checks will be
performed - Route plans will be utilized for trips
exceeding 100 miles
