• Charles I Problems Grow
• Disliked by Scots, English, Welsh, Parliament,
  the Anglicans, Puritans, Presbyterians and the
  list went on.
• Soldiers loyal to Charley
• ready to leave unless he paid them.
• Charles reconvened parliament to ask for more
  money
• Parliament refused
• Charles shut it down and called a new parliament
  (nicknamed the Long Parliament).
• Again, Parliament refused

• led 500 soldiers and stormed parliament.
• Civil War had come to Britain.
• Charles needed a quick victory, but instead, the
  civil war lasted for 7 years.
• Charles and his royalist army eventually defeated
  by the Parliaments New Model Army
• NMA led by the famous Puritan, Oliver Cromwell.
