Action Items from Sept Meeting

• Action Total membership issue (people had paid
  but not received membership) Colin/Tim to send
  email to SPE to resolve issues on 8 remaining
  personnel and close issue. Money will be used for
  2008 Open.
• Action All board members to look for volunteers
  to serve on selection committee for Student Paper
  contest. Alexandra to send an email to the board
  providing details and requesting judges for the
  contest. Open.
• Action Esso to nominate a rep for the Talent
  Council. Edson to discuss with Country Manager.
  Open.
• Action Massoxi to contact students / Chevron to
  check on process for payment of student
  membership.Chevrron is 2008 sponsor. Massoxi to
  tell student that Chevron will pay in English
  Portuguese. Open
• Action Chevron, Esso and Sonangol to arrange
  payment for the continuing education courses.
  Only found SNL PP have had invoices resubmitted
  to obtain electronic copy of ESSO and Chevron
  invoice on SPE letterhead from Manas Open
• Action Letter to be sent to Sonangol (Ruben
  Costa) and Total requesting Board participation.
  Colin contacted Jorge Abreu (Total) is looking
  for replacement. Sonangol as yet not contacted.

Angola Section Wins SPE Award

• Angola one of the winning section for 2007-2008
  year
• Contest runs annually from Sept 1st to Aug 31th.
  The key point
• Total membership gain
• Angola sections achieved 120 of target
  membership with 47 new applications and 128
  renewals
• SPE logo banner with contest year and section
  name imprinted and 1000 to help future section
  membership programs and events received
• Currently 260 members

Bulk Pay SPE Dues

• 25 August - Respond to SPE that your section will
  participate in our bulk payment program. Luisa
  but Need to ask if we can have separate invoices
  per company
• 28 August - We will send you an excel file with a
  list of current section members that the SPE
  database has tied to your section for review.
  This will be a good chance to review and update
  also
• 1 September - Complete your review of the
  provided section member file and return to us
  indicating those members who wish to participate.
  
• 5 September - A single invoice is generated and
  provided to you with the list of section members
  to be paid along with detailed payment
  instructions.
• 9 September - SPE informs all members that their
  2009 invoice is available online. To alleviate
  the possibility of overpayment, we ask that you
  alert your section members of your participation
  in the bulk payment program.
• 31 December - Bulk payment must be received by
  SPE to avoid any interruption in services.
