• All of which is made up of 100 recycled material
  and is elemental chlorine free.

• Dont buy it in the first place!
• Reuse it reprographics will turn paper used on
  one side into a note pad

• Facts
• In 2004 Leeds Met Recycled 157 monitors, 391
  base units and 105 printers.
• We refurbished 313 monitors, 251 base units and
  11 printers. These where sold on to the public.
• Diverting a total of 22 tonnes of IT equipment
  from landfill!

CDs

• Facts
• You can recycle mobile phones via the security
  help desk, Civic Quarter.
• All toner cartridges CDs can be recycled if
  boxed up and sent to the loading bay, Civic
  Quarter.
• Impacts
• Money raised through these schemes goes to Guide
  Dogs for the Blind and Candle Lighters.

• Facts
• AA, AAA and 1.5V batteries can be recycled using
  the bins provided at each AV loans counter
• Impacts
• The main constituents of concern for human health
  and the environment include cadmium, lead and
  mercury
• Mercury is a bio-accumulator. Which means the
  body has no way of getting rid of it.
• Solution
• Use rechargeable batteries
• Recycle used batteries
• Buy long life batteries.
