Background

• Special 2m one-off fund for purpose of helping
  Muslim families overcome challenges of economic
  recession
• Ensure undisrupted Islamic education for children
  whose parent (s) have been adversely affected by
  economic downturn

Eligibility

• All Madrasah FT students whose parents
• Have been retrenched
• Had household income reduced
• Work contract has not been renewed due to current
  economic crisis (effective Dec 08)
• Are Zakat recipients or potential zakat
  recipients
• For Payment of Madrasah school fees

Subsidy Quantum

• Muis pays up to 70 of monthly school fees
• Subsidy duration between 3 to 7 months
• Further extension will be on a case-to-case basis
  (fresh application to be made)

Application Procedure

• Applicants apply through madrasah on prescribed
  forms with relevant documents
• Madrasah to certify authenticity of documents
  provide support letter
• Madrasah to send copies of applications
  documents to Muis Madrasah Policy Planning
  Strategic Unit (MPPSU)
• MPPSU to review application transfer the amount
  due to Madrasah within 3 weeks of submission
• Submission deadline First Monday of the month
