The history of kelp in East Asia

• Back in 3000 BC seaweed was used as a food and
  medicine by the Emperor of China.
• In 300BC the Chinese used twelve different types
  of kelp for food.
• Prehistoric men used kelp for much of their
  food.
• In Japan kelp is loved for its beauty, texture,
  and for the taste.
• Kelp has been used in Iceland ever since the
  Vikings landed there.
