Materials Databases (1/3)
  • WG3/T4 and WG3/T9 have noted with concern an
outcome of the VAMAS TWA-10 meeting held in
February 2001, as reported in the VAMAS Bulleting
no 24 of November 2001. The report states that
MatMl is recognised as the kernel of Generic
    Platform of materials database.

9
Materials Databases (2/3)
  • WG3 supports the views of T4 and T9 that the SC4
should communicate this concern to the VAMAS
Steering Committee. The de jure standards
produced by ISO TC184/SC4 can also be used for
the representation of materials data and their
use for this purpose would provide continuity and
    integration with design and manufacturing
    systems.

10
Materials Databases (3/3)
  • WG3 recommends that SC4 requests that the VAMAS
TWA-10 should discuss these matters with
representatives of ISO TC184/SC4 as soon as
    possible.
