  • Two 3.5 inch, high-density (1.44 MB) diskettes

CIS 1L Corequisite
  • Concurrent enrollment in CIS 1L is required.
  • CIS 1L is a one unit, credit / no credit (CR/NC)
    course. You must earn a C average or better on
    your lab assignments to earn a credit in CIS 1L.
  • You must commit to 3 hours in the Lab each week.
  • Lab signups begin Thursday morning at 730 am

Assignments
  • Attend a lab orientation complete Assignment 1

  • Assignment handouts are available in class or the
    IS Lab.
  • All assignments are due by 500 pm on the day
    indicated.
  • Assignments can be submitted in class, the IS
    Lab, or my box in the Admin. Bldg.

Assignments
  • Assignments are graded on completeness and
    neatness.
  • Hand written work will not be accepted for
    assignment documents.
  • All required elements must be present for full
    credit on an assignment.
  • Only 3 assignments may be turned in late choose
    wisely the fourth late assignment will be given a
    zero.
  • 20 of possible points will be deducted from your
    score for late assignments.
  • No homework more than a week late will be
    accepted.
  • Note No late assignments accepted for 7

Grading
  • Exams (3) ? 40
  • Homework (7) ? 50
  • Participation (class attendance and discussion
    contribution) ? 10
  • A 90-100
  • B 80-89
  • C 65-79
  • D 55-64
  • F 54 or less

Missing Class
  • If you are absent six or more times, which is
    excessive, you will receive a zero for your
    participation grade.
  • Arriving late for class or leaving early will
    count as 1/2 an absence.
  • It is YOUR responsibility to keep track of your
    absences.
  • If you must miss class, it is YOUR responsibility
    to find out what happened in class. You will need
    to find another person in class and copy their
    notes, dates for assignments, and test
    information.
  • I will be happy to answer questions after you
    have read the class notes and assigned reading
    material.

Missed Exams
  • Alternative exam arrangements are at my
    discretion and will be considered only in EXTREME
    circumstances.
  • Failure to notify me that you will miss an exam
    before the exam is given will result in a zero on
    that exam.
  • The alternative arrangement MUST occur before the
    exam is returned in class (at most 1 week).
  • Please note A make-up exam taken after the
    scheduled exam date will be marked down 10 of
    the total possible points (one letter grade).

  • Incompletes may be granted only in EXTREME
    circumstances.
  • I need to be informed at the time of the problem.
  • You must be receiving at least a C grade at the
    time of the problem.
  • Respectful Behavior
  • In accordance with the code of student conduct,
    any student disrupting the educational
    environment will be dismissed from class.
