Rule of Thirds
Dividing the composition in proportions of thirds
creates a more interesting and dynamic balance
of shapes.

Counter Balance
Position your subject in the camera viewer to
arrange the shapes in the scene to either
harmonize or contrast with the rectangular frame.
The horizontal and vertical lines echo the sides
of the frame, creating stability. The diagonal
lines create movement, creating a counter balance
between stability and movement.

Triangles
The eye is taken on a Journey around the
composition from the point-of-focus of the dead
tree to the crowd of people in the back.
