Title: Fish, Wildlife,
1Fish, Wildlife, Recreation Program
Thinking about a career ?
2So, you want to be an FWR Technician?
3Are you tough enough?
4Work in the outdoors can be cold,
5wet,
6and miserable.
7It takes determination,
8willpower,
9and the ability to work with others.
10A sense of humour is also recommended.
11As is a love of nature,
12and a willingness to get your hands dirty.
13Youll need to be fit and prepared to be in the
outdoors.
14Classes are often outside,
15at the places where the subject of study lives,
16and the subject is not always easy to see.
17Technician work is usually 60 office work,
1830 field work,
19and 10 networking
20First year courses provide the foundation or core
courses
21Second year courses are more applied.
22There are a number of field trips,
23and projects in second year
24Program initiatives provide opportunity for
students to work in the community,
25and work with local resource managers on
community projects
26We also offer a Coop program for FWR students.
27The road is challenging, but the rewards are
many.
