DEFINITION
  • School Security is defined as the level of safety
    produced by the policies, programs and activities
    that are used to prevent or limit school-based
    interpersonal violence and/or criminal behavior.

PURPOSE
  • NNPS Strategic Plan Goal 2
  • (Establish and maintain school climates and
    facilities that are safe, orderly, nurturing, and
    supportive of quality teaching and learning, for
    students, staff, and community.)
  • Provide training on, and assist with submission
    of the School Safety Audit program required
    annually by the Virginia General Assembly.
  • Develop and implement division-wide school
    crisis management plans.
