Key Issues Split Grade/Solid Median

• Allows road elements to be squeezed into 82
  feet
• Minimizes grading on adjacent land
• Improves safety by eliminating conflicting
  traffic movements
• Landscaped median provides visual friction
  which will tend to slow traffic

• Noise studies will determine effect of THIS
  PROJECT on noise levels
• Site-based readings will establish base line
  noise levels today
• Projections of increases will determine
  mitigation measures

• Appraisers will contact individual homeowners
• Walls, landscaping, and driveways will be
  factored in
• Property owners may dispute appraisals and obtain
  a second opinion
• If no agreement between owner and Town, a court
  will determine fair compensation

• Speed limit is set at the 85th percentile of the
  latest speed survey
• Traffic signals and visual friction may affect
  traffic speed
• A new speed study will be conducted after
  improvements are complete
