  • Setting is the time, place, and general
    environment in which a story occurs.

  • The author describes in detail what this place
    looks like, and uses as many of the five senses
    as possible to make readers feel that they are
    there.

Main Characters
  • Main Characters play the most important parts in
    the story. The author always describes the
    physical appearance, personality and tells how
    the character feels.

Supporting Characters
  • Supporting characters are part of the story, but
    usually do not play an important roll.

Conflict
  • Struggles or Problems involving the main
    characters throughout the story.

  • Turning point in a story. This is usually the
    one moment or event that the reader has been
    waiting for. The most exciting part of the story

  • Final outcome of the plot. This is the ending of
    the story.

  • Authors comment on life.
  • This is the moral of the story or the lesson the
    author want the reader to learn.

  • Feelings or atmosphere created by the story. How
    the story makes you feel.
