MINISTRIES

• Ministries are developed to the extent needed to
  allow players in the simulation to plan for
  disasters and employ resources
• Includes a level of detail about the functions
  regulated by the ministry for example, a
  detailed list of the rolling stock of the
  national railroad

CAN SUPPORT COLLEGE COURSES

• A variety of types of assignments - examples
• Develop a plan for a city or province
• Develop standard operating procedure for response
  actions
• Designing an exercise
• Managing response to a disaster
• Writing an after action report
• Develop a budget, training and certification
  standards, equipment lists, etc.
• Students who lack access to functions in their
  own department or community can use Perilo as the
  basis for assigned work.

STUDENT WORK

• Becomes part of the permanent scenario for
  example over several classes in several
  semesters
• If student 1 develops an emergency operations
  plan for a Perilan town
• A future disaster exercise will require players
  (students 4-10) to use that plan
• With resources that student 2 designed
• Using an exercise prepared by student 3
• And critiqued in an after action process
  conducted by student 11
• To identify revisions to a national agencys
  procedures which will be prepared by student 12.

EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT TESTBED

• Participants can develop new concepts and new
  approaches to disaster problems
• For example, a better way to plan or a better
  organizational model
• And test them in the framework of Perilo against
  simulated disasters

CONTINUATION TRAINING

• A chance to participate in a variety of roles
  (local, state, national, different disciplines,
  etc.)
• Quarterly online tabletop exercises in a wide
  variety of disaster scenarios
• Continuing education unit documentation available

A LIVING SCENARIO

• Perilo is constantly evolving
• Participant contributions to the permanent
  scenario
• Additional development work to incorporate
  interesting problems found in disasters
• The scenario can be developed to support your
  specific needs.

CITIZENS

• All users of Perilo are required to register as
  citizens, a fictive state of affiliation
• And are encouraged to continue their
  participation in the living scenario for as long
  as they remain in emergency management.

PUBLICATION CREDIT

• Contributions to the Perilan scenario are peer
  reviewed.
• A description of the scenario is available for
  use in documenting publication contributions.
