THE BUTTERFLY

• The Butterfly goes through four stages. The last
  stage is where you see it become a butterfly.

Stage 1 Egg
The egg of a monarch butterfly is white.
They are usually found on the back of Milkweed
leaves.

Stage 2 The Larva
The egg hatches into a tiny larva.
Another name for larva is CATERPILLAR.

Stage 3 Pupa
A pupa is also called a CHRYSALIS.
Its where the caterpillar changes into a
butterfly.
Pupas are often camouflaged to hide from
predators.
